The Feast will be between 4-6 pm and the Powwow from 6:30-9pm. This year’s Giving Thanks Feast will feature a 5th generation squash produced from mother seeds found about six years ago at an archaeological dig on the Menominee reservation in northern Wisconsin. The mother seeds were carbondated to 850 years ago. It was named Gete-okosomin (by Winona Laduke), an Anishinaabe word that roughly translates to “really cool old squash.”
Hope to see you there!
